Elizabeth Millar
Founding Director & Accredited Family Law Specialist
Elizabeth is a founding Director and Accredited Family Law Specialist of Millar Trost Legal. She brings a wealth of experience, having practised as a lawyer for over 22 years, and is one of the most senior practising Accredited Family Law Specialists across all of Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.
Elizabeth commenced her legal career in a small general practice firm in suburban Brisbane, before moving to a larger commercial firm in the Brisbane CBD. She then joined a progressive boutique family law practice in Brisbane CBD, where she worked for over 12 years, before making a ‘green change’ and moving to the beautiful Garden City of Toowoomba.
Given her years of experience in the industry, Elizabeth brings a calm, focused presence to her work, which her clients appreciate, especially when they are going through one of the toughest times in their lives. Her focus is always on obtaining the best possible out-of-court outcome, though when litigation is necessary, Elizabeth will not hesitate to advocate strongly for her clients’ interests.
Michelle Trost
Founding Director & Principal Lawyer
Michelle is a founding Director and the Principal Lawyer of Millar Trost Legal. She commenced her legal career in a small general practice in Toowoomba in 2012 and later practised with a multi-national company across various state jurisdictions.
Michelle has focused her practice in Wills and Estates and contested estate matters, and has resolved contested estate matters for clients in Queensland, NSW, Victoria, and WA. She also draws on over 25 years of experience in small business and management, which allows her to offer a wealth of insight when assisting clients with estate and succession planning and property settlements.
Michelle is passionate about helping clients following the death of a loved one or the breakdown of a relationship, working to enforce and safeguard their legal rights. Her calm, approachable style and broad range of experience in life and the law ensure that clients receive not only knowledgeable guidance but genuine support throughout every step of their legal journey.
Diana Bradley
Senior Paralegal
Diana has worked exclusively in Wills, Estates, and conveyancing for over five years alongside Michelle Trost, having worked in the legal industry for over 40 years in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, across practice areas including family law, commercial property, construction, shipping, and aviation. She has also served as a Practice Manager.
While living in the United Kingdom, Diana attained an LLB (Hons) degree and is also a qualified New Zealand Legal Executive. Her clear, approachable communication style ensures clients understand and stay informed about the progress of their matter.
Outside the office, Diana is actively involved with show horses as an Equestrian Queensland Show Horse committee member, Show Horse Judge, and competitor.
John Gillies
Law Clerk
John brings over six years of hands-on legal experience to his work in family law and criminal law. Having worked as a Law Clerk across a range of practice areas, John has supported clients through some of the most challenging periods of their lives, particularly in family law matters involving parenting arrangements, property settlements, and domestic violence proceedings.
John completed his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) in 2024, building on years of practical experience within busy law firm environments. He also holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from the University of Queensland (UQ).
He is known for his approachable manner and steady presence, taking the time to explain the legal process clearly so clients feel informed and supported at every stage. Outside of the office, John enjoys travelling, exploring Japanese culture and anime, gaming, and spending time with family and friends.
